Meet The Staff
Stephan started playing tennis at the age of 9 and quickly rose to become the number one Junior Tennis Player at his local tennis club in Vienna Virginia- Cardinal Hill Swim and Tennis Club, holding that spot until he left to attend college. He was also ranked as a top 20 Junior Tennis Players in the State of Virginia. He earned a Varsity letter for tennis his Freshman year and was undefeated for the entire season. He was named Northern Virginia Regional MVP his Freshman year. He finished his Senior year in High School as the number one player and Captain of the team.
Stephan attended West Virginia Wesleyan College, an NCAA Division II and NAIA Division II school, and played in the top three singles positions and doubles, including the number one position, for a total of four years as a scholarship player. After graduating from college, he earned his NCAA Coaches Certification and worked as a graduate student and Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach in charge of team recruitment and player development for West Virginia Weslyan College.
For the past 20 years, Stephan has been working in the banking industry as a Vice President and Business Lender, as well as a Regional Market Manager in charge of Portland’s branch network before purchasing the Racket and Fitness Center.
In addition, Stephan has volunteered as a soccer coach for the Scarborough Community Services Soccer program and as a Scarborough Travel Soccer coach for boys and girls at the U9, through U13 age groups. He is currently the Vice President of the Board of Directors of Northeast Hearing and Speech, a non-profit organization providing hearing, speech and language services to the Greater Portland community, and has been a member of the board for more then 10 years.
Stephan has a passion for with working with kids to develop lifelong skills in athletic activities. He lives Scarborough with his with wife Chelsie and two kids, Kevin and Amber.
Devi has been working at the Racket & Fitness Center since 1998 as the Social Director and Weekend Lead. She is the USTA Tennis League Coordinator for the state of Maine and enjoys running tennis tournaments
